Since 1752
The history of our house goes way back to the 18th century. We have not been able to trace the history of the "Tanne" back any further, as the Wernigerode town archives have little or no documentation from before 1752. Our house is located in the former "new town" of Wernigerode and originally had the house number 221.Chronicle

Johann Joachim Tacke acquired the inn from the heirs of the deceased Jacob Möser for the large sum of 900 Reichstaler.
1798
In 1798, a certain Johan Christian Knesemeier took over the inn. At that time, the inn had 3 parlours, 7 chambers and 3 stables for up to 40 horses. Some of the stables are still in their original state today.
1877 to 1889
Wilhelm Dabbert continued to run the inn under the name "Zur Tanne", which still exists today.
1889
Franz Dabbert took over the inn and then sold it to Wilhelm Jürgens, my great-grandfather, in 1905.
1928 to 1934
From 1928 to 1934, Otto Struckmeyer, Wilhelm Jürgens' son-in-law, ran the inn. The reason for this was that my great-grandfather died in 1928 and his wife Auguste Jürgens did not have a liquor licence (certificate to run a restaurant or hotel).
1934
my great-grandmother Auguste Jürgens, the wife of Wilhelm Jürgens, took over the inn again. She handed it over to her son Herbert Jürgens in 1947.
1972
When my grandfather Herbert Jürgens died in 1972, my grandmother Käthe Jürgens continued to run the hotel and restaurant "Zur Tanne" until 1992.
1992
My parents, Renate & Klaus Fehsecke, took over the business in 1992 and continue to run it successfully to this day!

Remodelling and takeover by me. I look forward to meeting you and will be happy to tell you more about the house and the family. Yours, Jörg Fehsecke
